I’ve enjoyed reading Draliman’s Share Your World posts (a section of sparksfromacombustiblemind’s blog) for a while now and so today I decided that I’d like to take part. The questions from this weeks post and my answers are below!
What’s the first thing you notice about a person?
I have absolutely no idea but from now on I’ll be sure to stare extra hard, and for longer, just to try and take note of what I’m looking at. That being said, I think that the first thing I notice about someone is anything that sets them apart from others.
What three habits do you feel would improve someone’s life?
I am terrible at sticking to habits but I’ll try and answer based on “habits” I kept for a little while that offered improvement to my life.
- Respect your body: eat well, sleep more, exercise.
- Pursue your goals: every day dedicate time to your passion.
- Be kind: remember your manners, smile at strangers and don’t take your shit out on them. – of course, this is actually something I stick too.
What takes up too much of your time? Would you stop that if you could?
My mental illnesses are by far the biggest drains on my life. I would absolutely want to stop them. I don’t buy into the mentality of suffering spurs on my creativity. It has taken more than it could ever give.
Cookies (biscuits to those elsewhere), pastries, pie or cake? If not, what does your sweet tooth crave?
My sweet tooth is a dreadful thing to behold. Please give me all of the above with extra sprinkles, custard, and anything else I can gorge myself on. Oh, Lordy, banana runts!
Gratitude? Are You Happy? If so, why? If not, why not?
I flip between happy and sad hourly, daily – one moment the world is ending and the next I’m hopeful, bubbly. I’m a blast to be around. Right now, I’m happy because my mind is on sleep mode and we’re about to watch the last two episodes of the Umbrella Academy. That show is so good. A few hours ago? Not so much. But, all that being said, and even with the roller coaster ride, I am grateful for the people and animals in my life. I think you can be grateful and miserable at the same time… or maybe it’s the mochi talking. Mochi, I’m also grateful for mochi.
