Phantasm

she whispers

a spell is cast

to sleep at long last

a dream is walked

upon path once travelled

barren

lonely as the footsteps

that disturb its earth this night

aglow, a window

ivy thick at its sill

my own fingertips I glance

press against giving leaves

a spectre greets none

inside, warmed by the fire light

I hear crackle

yet its heat I do not feel

as fingertips chill

the very same glide pen across paper

colder, I grow still

my eyes met by eyes of my own

by the ink of a phantasm

words spill forth, stories told, dream within a dream

I witness the telling of the final tale

untold

unending

a spell at all cost

for a memory lost

a dream to remain unseen

unless,

this dreamer upon path untraveled

Awaken
